Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You turn right from a two-lane street onto a street with two lanes in each direction. You plan to turn left into a store about a quarter mile after the corner. How should you make the right turn?
A approaches in the middle of the right-hand lane of a two-way street. The cross street has two lanes in each direction. The card says A plans a right turn, with no path or receiving lane selected.
Correct answer: Keep close to the right edge, and turn into the right lane of the new street
Why
A tight right turn keeps your path short and easy for others to predict. Before the turn, search the corners for pedestrians, bicyclists and traffic controls, and signal at least 100 feet ahead. During the turn, look through it to where you want to go, and after it, make sure that your signal is off.
