Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You drive on a city street and plan to turn right into a driveway ahead. No other street or driveway comes before it. Which way of using your turn signal follows New Hampshire law?
A approaches a driveway on the right side of a two-way city street. No side street or driveway lies between A and the planned turn.
Correct answer: Turn it on about 150 feet before the driveway, and leave it on until you turn
Why
A signal gives other drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians time to react to your move. On a highway, the manual says to signal at least 500 feet before you change lanes or exit, and to signal earlier in rain, snow or fog, because vehicles behind you need more distance to stop. Signal before you slow down, because the law also requires a signal before you stop or suddenly slow down when a driver is behind you.
