Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You drive on a road with two marked lanes going your way. You may need the left lane for a turn in about a mile, but you are not sure yet. How should you drive?
A travels wholly within the right of two lanes going the same way. A broken white line separates the lanes.
Correct answer: Stay fully in one lane, and move over only after a mirror and blind-spot check and a signal
Why
Other drivers plan their moves around the lane that you are in, so staying in the middle of one lane makes you easy to predict. Choose your lane early for a turn, so that you do not need a quick lane change near the intersection. When you do change lanes, move one lane at a time and do not ride beside another vehicle in its blind spot.
