Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You approach a red eight-sided STOP sign. There is a marked crosswalk but no white stop line. What must you do?

Correct answer: Stop with the wheels fully still before the crosswalk, then look in all directions
Why
If there is a stop line, stop behind it; with only a crosswalk, stop before the crosswalk; with neither, stop where you can see the cross traffic, before you enter the intersection. Stopping short of the crosswalk keeps it clear for pedestrians, who have the right of way there. After the stop, you must still yield to cross traffic that is close enough to be a hazard before you go.
