Maya, 18, had her examination permit validated for practice four months ago. She has already logged 50 supervised hours, 10 of them after dark. Which statement about her road test is correct?
Correct answer: She must wait six months from validation and have a signed BA-CSD form.
Why
The six-month minimum gives a young driver time to practice in many kinds of traffic and weather before driving alone. The 50-hour rule, with 10 hours in darkness, applies to permits issued to drivers under 21 on or after February 1, 2025. A parent, guardian or supervising driver signs the Certification of Supervised Driving (Form BA-CSD), which the manual says to have at the road test appointment; a false certification can bring a six-month suspension.
