Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
You are driving on a main road. Ahead on your right, a car approaches a STOP sign on a side street, and it is not slowing down much. How should you plan?
A travels on the main road toward an intersection. B approaches a STOP sign from the side street on A’s right; the card states that B is not slowing down much.
Correct answer: Expect that it may not stop, and be ready to slow down or steer away.
Why
Even good drivers make errors, and equipment can fail. Defensive driving means you look ahead, keep your eyes moving, and decide in advance what you will do if someone else makes a mistake. Losing a few seconds is far better than relying on your right-of-way and being in a crash.
