Your mirrors are set correctly, and your car has a blind-spot warning light. You are about to move into the lane on your left. What is the best way to make sure that the space beside you is clear?
A travels in the right lane of a four-lane road and plans to move to the same-direction lane on its left. The card states that the mirrors are correctly set and a blind-spot warning light is fitted; it does not show an alert or identify the answer.
Correct answer: Turn your head and look over your left shoulder into that lane.
Why
A blind spot is an area beside and behind your car that the inside and side mirrors do not show. Motorcycles, bicycles and small cars fit easily in it. Make the shoulder check every time you change lanes, merge or pull away from a curb, and do not rely on a warning light or camera alone.
