You approach a single-lane roundabout. A car that is already in the circle is coming from your left toward your entry. What should you do?
A approaches the south entry of a single-lane roundabout at a YIELD sign. Silver car B is already in the circle, moving east from A’s left toward the entry.
Correct answer: Enter after that car passes your entry, when there is a safe gap.
Why
Ohio law defines a roundabout as a circular intersection with yield control at each entry, so traffic already in the circle goes first (ORC 4511.01 and 4511.43). Slow down as you approach, yield to pedestrians at the crosswalk, look left for circulating traffic, and enter when the lane is clear. Once you are in the roundabout, keep moving; do not stop or change lanes inside it.
