Your car has a backup camera. You are about to back out of a driveway onto a quiet street. How should you watch your path while the car moves backward?
A faces away from a quiet street while preparing to reverse out of a driveway. The card states that the car has a backup camera; no driver viewing method is shown yet.
Correct answer: Turn to look directly through the rear window until you stop, and use the camera and mirrors only as aids
Why
Ohio law requires drivers to watch carefully while backing so that they do not hurt a person or damage property. Children and small objects directly behind a car cannot be seen from the driver's seat, so check behind the car before you get in. Then turn your body, rest your right arm behind the passenger seat, and look out through the rear window. If you turn while you back up, also make quick checks to the front and the sides.
