Passing target: 75% (30/40)
You drive at 25 mph on a city street and plan to turn right into a driveway ahead. What does Ohio law require for your turn signal?
A approaches a driveway on the right side of a two-lane city street. The card gives A’s speed as 25 mph; no signal-start distance is shown in the question image.
Correct answer: Signal without a break for at least the last 100 feet before the turn.
Why
Ohio law requires a signal before you turn or move right or left, given continuously during at least the last 100 feet (ORC 4511.39). At 25 mph a car covers 100 feet in less than 3 seconds, so start the signal early enough to warn others. You may use the signal lights or hand-and-arm signals, and you should cancel the signal after the turn.
