Passing target: 80% (16/20)
You are driving through an intersection on a green light when an ambulance with its siren on and red lights flashing comes up behind you. What should you do?
Car A is driving through an intersection on a green light. Ambulance B approaches from behind; the card identifies its flashing red lights and siren.
Correct answer: Clear the intersection, pull to the right edge, and stop until it passes.
Why
Emergency vehicles need a clear, predictable path. Do not stop inside an intersection, because you can block the emergency vehicle and cross traffic. In heavy traffic, where you cannot pull over, make a path for the vehicle. You do not have to yield to an emergency vehicle that has no siren and no flashing lights on.
