Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
A 19-year-old driver had one beer before driving. At a traffic stop, a breath test shows an alcohol concentration of 0.02. Has the driver broken Oklahoma's alcohol law?
Correct answer: Yes, because any measurable amount of alcohol is unlawful for a driver under 21.
Why
Oklahoma's zero-tolerance law also covers a young driver who shows signs of other drugs, or of alcohol combined with other drugs. A measurable test result or a refusal to take the test leads to revocation of the young driver's license. Drinking and driving hurts and kills more young people than any other cause, so even a small amount of alcohol is too much.
