Passing target: 16 correct signs and 16 correct rules (TLA practice targets)
You are in the right lane of a highway with two lanes in your direction. An ambulance is stopped on the right shoulder at a collision scene, with red lights flashing. What should you do?
Car A approaches a collision response in the right lane. An ambulance with flashing red lamps and two other vehicles are stopped on the right shoulder. The left lane is clear.
Correct answer: Slow down and move left when safe
Why
When a stopped emergency vehicle on your side of the highway has red or red-and-blue lights flashing, slow down and proceed cautiously. With two or more lanes in your direction, leave its lane or the adjacent lane only when the move can be made safely. Check mirrors and blind spot, signal, and follow responder directions.
