Passing target: 80% (28/35)
On a multilane street, you have driven right beside another car for a whole block. There is room around you. What should you do?
A and B travel side by side in adjacent lanes going the same way, with open space ahead and behind. The card states that they have stayed beside each other for a block.
Correct answer: Drop back a little or move ahead, so that you are not beside it
Why
A side space cushion gives you room to react when another vehicle moves toward your lane without warning. Riding beside a car often puts you in its blind spot, where its driver cannot see you even with the mirrors. Keep extra space from parked cars too, because a door can open or a person can step out.
