Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You want to park on the side of the street opposite the driveway entrance of a fire station. What is the minimum distance from the entrance at which you may park?
A fire-station driveway opens onto a two-way road. The card identifies parking across from the station and asks the learner to measure from the driveway entrance. No signs or distances are shown.
Correct answer: 75 feet
Why
Fire trucks need room to swing wide when they leave the station, so Oregon keeps both sides of the street clear. On the same side as the driveway, do not park within 15 feet of the entrance. On the opposite side, the distance is 75 feet. These distances let fire crews respond without delay.
