Passing target: 80% (28/35)
On a two-lane road, the car ahead of you stops at a marked crosswalk at an intersection. You cannot see why it stopped, and the oncoming lane is clear. What should you do?
Blue car A follows silver car B in the same lane of a two-lane road. B has stopped before a marked crosswalk at an intersection; the opposing lane is empty, and no pedestrian is visible.
Correct answer: Stop behind it and do not pass, because a pedestrian may be crossing
Why
A pedestrian who walks out in front of a stopped car is hidden from drivers behind it until the last moment. Also do not pass near an intersection or a railroad crossing, or where a hill or curve blocks your view of oncoming traffic. When the crosswalk is clear, wait for the car ahead to move before you go.
