Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park facing uphill on a street with a curb, and you set the parking brake. How should you turn the front wheels?
A faces uphill next to the right-hand curb, with its parking brake set as stated in the card. A side-profile diagram shows the grade, and the question does not select a wheel setting.
Correct answer: Toward the travel lane, so the back of a front tire rolls against the curb
Why
Uphill with a curb is the one case in which you turn the wheels away from the curb. The curb then blocks the tire if the car starts to roll back. Also shift to park, or leave a manual transmission in gear.
