Passing target: 83.3% (15/18)
Your left-turn signal shows a flashing yellow arrow. You have entered the intersection and wait for oncoming cars to pass. The arrow then changes to a steady yellow arrow. What should you do?
A waits inside an intersection facing right, with B approaching from the opposite direction. Two signal details labeled Before and Now show the left arrow changing from flashing yellow to steady yellow.
Correct answer: Finish your turn with care as soon as oncoming traffic stops or clears the intersection.
Why
On a flashing yellow arrow, your left turn is not protected: oncoming traffic has a green light, and you must yield to it and to pedestrians. A steady yellow arrow then warns that a red signal comes next. If you have not yet entered the intersection and can stop safely, stop at the stop line instead.
