Licensing & Test ReadinessStandalone practice
Taylor, 16, got a junior driver's license three months ago and has had no crashes or tickets. With no parent in the car, Taylor wants to drive two friends, both 16 and not family members, to school. What does the law allow?
Correct answer: Taylor may carry only one of them, since the limit is one such passenger.
Why
Teen passengers raise the crash risk of teen drivers because they distract the driver. After six months, the limit rises to three such passengers, but a junior driver who is partly or fully responsible for a reportable crash, or who is convicted of a traffic violation, goes back to the limit of one. The number of passengers may never exceed the number of seat belts.
