At this PEI intersection, no sign prohibits a right turn on the circular red light. What must you do before turning right?
Blue car A faces along an intersection approach with a clear gap ahead to a white line. A roadside signal has its upper circular red lamp lit.
Correct answer: Stop completely at the line, then yield and turn when safe
Why
At a circular red light, first stop at the marked stop line. If there is no line, stop before the near crosswalk, or before the intersection if neither is present. A right turn may then be made cautiously unless a sign prohibits it. Yield to pedestrians lawfully in an adjacent crosswalk and to other traffic lawfully using the intersection. Wait when the path is unsafe; the driver behind you cannot require an unsafe turn.
