Your light is green, but traffic past the intersection is stopped. There is no room for your car on the far side. What should you do?
A faces a green signal before a marked intersection. B and C are stopped immediately beyond the far crosswalk, leaving insufficient room for A. All four crosswalks are visible; the question image shows no answer mark.
Correct answer: Wait before the intersection until there is room past it.
Why
A car stopped inside an intersection blocks cross traffic when the light changes, and it can block emergency vehicles and people in crosswalks. Before you enter on green, look past the intersection and make sure that your whole vehicle will fit. Some cities mark 'Don't Block the Box' intersections with white diagonal lines and signs, and fines apply there.
