Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You follow a motorcycle on a city street. The rider moves to the left part of the lane and slows down, but no brake light comes on. How should you follow?
A follows motorcycle B on a city street. B is in the left part of its lane. The card states that B slows without a brake light. A roadside pole is visible; no following interval is selected.
Correct answer: Keep at least 4 seconds behind it, and let the rider use any part of the lane.
Why
A motorcycle is small, so it can look farther away than it is, and its small convex mirrors make your car look farther back to the rider. A rider who carries a passenger needs even more distance to stop. At intersections and before a lane change, look twice for motorcycles.
