Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
You drive on a city street and plan to turn right at the next corner. Under Rhode Island law, over what minimum distance must your turn signal stay on before you turn?
Correct answer: The last 100 feet before the turn.
Why
A signal that starts early gives drivers behind you time to understand your plan and to slow down. The Rhode Island manual uses the same 100-foot minimum for lane changes, and it also says to signal when you pull out of a parking space. If your signal lamps do not work, use the hand-and-arm signals that the manual shows.
