What should you understand if a skid has progressed into a full spin?
Correct answer: Recovery is no longer assured; you may not be able to stop the spinning.
Why
A skid that develops into a full spin may be too advanced for the driver to stop the spinning. Do not assume that more steering or the presence of ABS guarantees recovery. This is why SGI stresses adjusting speed to conditions, looking ahead, and responding early with the appropriate small, smooth correction as a skid develops. Braking-skid and ABS techniques depend on what caused the loss of grip and the vehicle's equipment. Learn those techniques and your vehicle's safety systems before an emergency, with an experienced instructor where possible.
