On a rural two-lane road, you are behind a horse-drawn buggy. The road ahead is straight and clear. The buggy starts to slow down near a farm lane on the left. What should you do?
A follows horse-drawn buggy B on a rural two-way road. A narrow, unmarked farm lane is on the left ahead; B begins to slow, as the card states.
Correct answer: Stay back and wait, because the buggy may be about to turn left there.
Why
People who ride horses or drive animal-drawn vehicles have the same right to use the road as you, and they must follow the same rules. A horse can panic at a loud noise, and a buggy gives little protection to the people in it if a car hits it. Watch for warning signs in areas where buggies and riders are common.
