Passing target: 80% (24/30)
At night, water covers a low part of the road ahead. It looks only a few inches deep, and a pickup truck just drove through it. What should you do?
At night, A approaches water covering the whole width of a low part of the road. Pickup B is already beyond the water. The card says it looks shallow, but no depth is measured or safe path selected.
Correct answer: Turn around and use another route, or go to higher ground and wait
Why
Flash floods can come quickly, within minutes or hours of heavy rain, and they cover roads, bridges and low areas. At night it is harder to see how deep the water is or whether the road under it is still there. If barricades block a flooded road, find another way to your destination.
