Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Your car is parked facing uphill next to a curb. A friend turned the front wheels toward the curb, the same way as for downhill parking. What should you change?
Blue car A is parked uphill; a top-view inset shows a friend’s supplied setup with the front wheels toward the curb.
Correct answer: Turn the wheels away from the curb, to the left.
Why
Each hill rule has one purpose: a car that rolls must stop against the curb or go off the road, not into traffic. Uphill with a curb is the only case in which the wheels point left, away from the curb. Downhill with a curb, and uphill or downhill with no curb, the wheels point right.
