You borrow a family member's car. The driver's seat and the mirrors are set for a taller person. In what order should you set things up?
Correct answer: Adjust the seat first, then all three mirrors, before you start to drive.
Why
Set the inside mirror to frame the rear window. Set each side mirror with your head moved toward that side, so that you can just see the side of your car. To test the settings, watch a car pass on your left: as it leaves the inside mirror, it should appear in the left side mirror. Even well-set mirrors leave blind spots, so turn your head to check before you turn or change lanes.
