Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
Your street joins a busy road at this sign. A car on the busy road is close to the junction, and a pedestrian is in the crosswalk in front of you. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, stop if necessary, and let both the pedestrian and the car go first
Why
A yield sign does not always require a stop, but it never gives you the right to go first. If the way is clear, continue at a slow, safe speed; if not, stop at the stop line or crosswalk as you would at a stop sign. In Utah, a crash with a vehicle in the intersection or a pedestrian in the crosswalk after you pass a yield sign without a stop is evidence that you did not yield.
