Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You drive in the right lane of a road with two lanes in your direction. Traffic is light, and you pass this sign. What should you plan to do?

Correct answer: Find a safe gap and merge left before your lane ends
Why
When your lane ends, the drivers in the continuing lane have the right-of-way, so you must yield to vehicles close enough to be a hazard. Signal early, match the speed of traffic and check your blind spot before you move over. In heavy, slow traffic, for example at a work zone, Utah asks drivers to use both lanes up to the merge point and then take turns like a zipper.
