A large parking pass and an air freshener hang from your rearview mirror. Together they block part of your view of the road ahead and to the right. What should you do before you drive?
A large tan parking pass and a green air freshener hang below the rearview mirror. They obscure the roadway ahead and to the right through the windshield.
Correct answer: Take them down, or move them to a place where they do not block any part of your view
Why
Items on the windshield or the mirror can hide a pedestrian, a bicyclist or a whole car, especially at intersections and on curves. Utah law allows other nontransparent material only in small areas, for example a strip along the top edge of the windshield and a small area in the lower left corner. Keep the windshield clean inside and out, because dirt and frost also block your view.
