Two drivers get the same traffic convictions and points. One is 19, and the other is 30. How does Utah's point system treat the 19-year-old?
Correct answer: The division acts at a lower point total under a separate system for drivers under 21
Why
Points for each conviction are removed three years after the violation. Half of your points are removed after one full year without a moving violation conviction, and all points after two years in a row without one. A division-recommended defensive driving course can remove 50 points once in any three-year period.
