Passing target: 80% (16/20)
You come to a one-lane roundabout that has a YIELD sign at your entry. A car that is already in the roundabout is coming toward your entry from your left. What should you do?
A approaches a single-lane roundabout under a YIELD sign. Silver B is already circulating toward the entry from A’s left.
Correct answer: Let the car in the roundabout go by, and enter when there is a safe gap.
Why
In a roundabout, traffic moves counterclockwise, and you enter and exit only by turning right. Drivers who enter must yield to the traffic already in the roundabout, and also to pedestrians and bicyclists, and may enter only in a safe gap. Keep your speed low as you approach, drive through and exit, and signal before you exit. At a roundabout with two lanes, choose your lane from the signs and markings before you enter, because you may not change lanes inside.
