Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You drive past a friend's house on a city street. At the next intersection, a sign shows a black U-shaped arrow inside a red circle with a red slash. No other signs are posted. What may you do?

Correct answer: Turn left here, then turn around where it is legal
Why
A red circle with a slash means no, and the symbol inside shows the action that is prohibited. Virginia also treats a U-turn as two left turns, so a No Left Turn sign also prohibits U-turns at that place. In cities, towns and county business districts, you may turn around only at an intersection. On a curve or near the top of a hill, do not turn around where other drivers cannot see you from 500 feet away.
