Passing target: 85% (34/40)
You drive on a four-lane divided highway. A grass median separates the two roadways, but it has an opening for turning vehicles at an intersection ahead. A school bus stops on the other roadway with its red lights flashing. What must you do?
A approaches on a divided highway with two lanes each way. A grass median separates the roadways except for an intersection opening. Bus B stops on the other roadway.
Correct answer: Continue without stopping, but watch for people who leave the bus
Why
The exception applies only when the bus is on a separate roadway with a physical barrier or an unpaved area between it and you. On a road with no median, or with only a painted center area or a center turn lane, you must stop for a stopped school bus from any direction. Near a stopped bus, slow down and watch for children who run across the road.
