Passing target: 85% (34/40)
On the interstate, you drive beside the trailer of a tractor-trailer. You cannot see the truck driver's face in the truck's side mirror. What should you do?
A is beside the trailer of truck B in an adjacent interstate lane. The card gives the stated lack of a view of the driver’s face.
Correct answer: Pass the truck or drop back when safe, to leave its side blind spot
Why
Trucks, buses and RVs have large blind spots, called No-Zones, on both sides, in front and behind. These vehicles also make wide turns and need nearly twice the distance of a car to stop. When you pass a truck, move back in front of it only when you can see the whole front of the truck in your rearview mirror.
