You drive in the left lane of a four-lane city street (two lanes each way). An ambulance with flashing lights and a siren comes up behind you. What must you do?
A travels in the inner of two eastbound lanes with an ambulance behind it; two opposing lanes are across the center line.
Correct answer: Pull to the right edge of the road, stop, and stay there until it passes
Why
Fire trucks, ambulances and police cars that use lights and sirens have the right-of-way. When all drivers move right and stop, the emergency driver has a clear, predictable path. After it passes, signal and move back into traffic in the same order as before.
