Passing target: 80% (32/40)
At a two-way stop, you and a driver directly across from you stop at the same time. You plan to turn left. The other driver plans to go straight. Cross traffic is clear. What should you do?
A and the opposite car B stopped together. A plans a left turn; B plans to go straight. The stopped vehicles have no priority highlight or movement path.
Correct answer: Let the other driver go straight first, then make your left turn
Why
At a two-way stop, only the side road has stop signs, so after you stop you must also yield to cross traffic that does not stop. Between the two stopped drivers, the driver who goes straight goes first, because a left turn crosses that path. Before you turn, also check the street that you enter for pedestrians and bicyclists.
