Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You drive on a gravel road to an intersection with a paved county road. There are no signs or signals. A pickup on the paved road is coming from your right and will reach the intersection at about the same time as you. What should you do?
A approaches from the gravel road at the top. Silver pickup B approaches on the paved road from A’s right. There are no traffic signs, signals or answer markings.
Correct answer: Yield to the pickup, then cross when the way is clear
Why
An uncontrolled intersection has no signs or signals, but the right-of-way rules still apply. The Washington guide says that you must yield when a vehicle is already in the intersection, when you enter a state highway from a secondary road, when you enter a paved road from an unpaved road, and when you turn left in front of an oncoming vehicle. Slow down as you approach, because the other driver may not see you.
