Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
A sign over the center lane of a busy road shows two curved arrows that turn left, one pointing each way. You move into this lane to turn left into a store. Who else may lawfully use this lane?

Correct answer: Drivers who come from the other direction and enter it to turn left
Why
Because traffic from both directions uses the same center lane, two drivers can meet head-on in it. Signal, enter the lane, and watch for a vehicle that comes toward you in the same lane. Then yield to oncoming traffic in the through lanes before you complete the left turn. The law lets you drive in a center left-turn lane only to prepare for a left turn.
