Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a two-lane road, an oncoming car drifts across the center line and comes toward you in your lane. What should you do?
Oncoming silver B has crossed the center line and approaches blue A in A’s lane. Both cars remain on the roadway; no evasive path is selected.
Correct answer: Move to the right, slow down, and sound your horn and flash your headlights.
Why
An oncoming driver can drift into your lane when asleep, impaired, distracted, passing, or cutting a curve. Moving right and slowing down gives both drivers more space and time, and the horn and headlights may alert the other driver. Do not turn left into the other lane, because the other driver will probably steer back into it.
