Your tires are worn almost smooth. It starts to rain as you drive at 35 mph on a city street. What is true about your car now?
A close detail shows the almost-smooth tire described in the stem. The card states rain at 35 mph on a city street. No hydroplaning, stopping-distance comparison or selected response is shown.
Correct answer: It can hydroplane even at this low speed, and it needs more distance to stop.
Why
Tires with very little tread are called bald tires. They cannot clear water from under the tire, so they lose grip on wet roads and need more distance to stop. Check your tires before you drive, and replace worn tires before bad weather comes. On a wet road with worn tires, slow down and leave more space ahead.
