Passing target: 80% (52/65)
On a two-lane road, you come up behind a motorcycle that rides in the left part of your lane. The oncoming lane is clear, and passing is allowed. How may you pass the motorcycle?
A follows motorcycle B on a two-way road. B rides in the left part of A’s lane; the opposing lane is clear and no passing path is marked.
Correct answer: Pass in the oncoming lane, because a motorcycle has the right to its full lane.
Why
A motorcycle is narrow, but it has the same right to a full lane as a car. Wisconsin law says that no vehicle may take away another vehicle's full use of a lane. Only two motorcycles may share a lane, and only if both riders agree. Give motorcycles extra room, mainly when you follow one, because a motorcycle can stop faster than most vehicles.
