A tire goes flat while you are crossing a long Interstate bridge that has almost no shoulder. The car can still move. What should you do?
A is on a bridge with very little shoulder, and a wide stopping area begins beyond the bridge railing. The card states that a tire is flat but the car can still move.
Correct answer: Drive slowly past the end of the bridge, then stop with all four wheels well off the road.
Why
If your car breaks down on the Interstate, drive it as far onto the right shoulder as you can, with all four wheels well off the road. Even with a flat tire, you can drive slowly for a short distance so that you do not stop on a bridge or in an underpass, where there is little room and other drivers may not see you in time. Wyoming law does not allow stopping on a bridge, or on the traveled part of a highway outside town, when you can move the vehicle off the road.
