Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You are on a two-lane road behind a slow farm tractor. The center line has a solid yellow line on your side and a broken yellow line on the other side. You see no oncoming traffic. May you pass?
A follows farm tractor B on a two-lane road with an empty opposing lane. The yellow line next to A is solid; the parallel line on the other side is broken.
Correct answer: No, because the solid line is on your side of the center line.
Why
On a two-lane road, each half of the center line applies to the traffic next to it. A solid yellow line on your side marks a no-passing zone, usually because a hill, curve or other hazard limits how far you can see. Wyoming law gives one exception: you may cross it to turn left into or out of an alley, private road or driveway. A slow vehicle ahead is not a reason to pass in a no-passing zone.
