You park facing uphill on a street with a curb. How should you leave the front wheels and the parking brake?
A is parked by a right-hand curb, with a side-profile inset showing an uphill grade. The question detail does not select a front-wheel setting.
Correct answer: Turn the wheels away from the curb and set the parking brake.
Why
When you park facing uphill next to a curb, set the parking brake and turn the front wheels away from the curb, so that the tire stops against the curb if the car rolls back. When you park downhill, or uphill with no curb, turn the wheels toward the curb or the right edge of the road. On any grade, Wyoming law requires a set brake and front wheels turned so that the curb or roadside can hold the car. The manual also tells you to turn off the engine, take the keys and lock the car.
