You plan to slow down and turn into a driveway ahead, and a car is following you. How can you best warn that driver?
Correct answer: Signal early and touch the brake so your brake lights come on before you slow.
Why
To communicate is to show other drivers your plans in time for them to react. Signal at least 100 feet before a turn, and 4 to 5 seconds ahead is better at higher speeds. Touch the brake to turn on your brake lights and start slowing well before the turn, because Wyoming law requires a signal before you stop or suddenly slow when a vehicle is behind you.
