Weather, Visibility & EmergenciesStandalone practice
The accelerator stays stuck and the vehicle continues gaining speed. What should you do to regain control?
Correct answer: Shift to Neutral, steer, and brake to a stop.
Why
Concentrate on steering, shift to Neutral and use the brakes to stop safely out of traffic. Do not select Park or Reverse while moving. If shutting off the ignition becomes necessary, never turn it to the steering-lock position. Have the cause corrected before driving again.
