Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
On a two-lane, two-way road, when is driving left of center to pass generally prohibited near an intersection?
Correct answer: Within 100 feet, unless traffic controls allow it
Why
On an ordinary two-way road, do not drive left of center within 100 feet of or through an intersection or railroad crossing unless traffic controls indicate otherwise. An obstructed view also prohibits doing so within 100 feet of a bridge, viaduct or tunnel. The statute has exceptions for one-way roads, lawful left turns and necessary obstruction avoidance with proper yielding; they do not allow an unsafe pass.
