On a two-lane road, a lawful, clear driveway is available on your right for a two-point turn. Which sequence best avoids backing out into the road?
A two-way road has an empty driveway on its south side, to the right of eastbound traffic. Direction labels and the driveway entrance are visible; no car or maneuver path is shown.
Correct answer: Back into the driveway, then drive out forward when clear.
Why
Where lawful and safe, a two-point turn can be made by backing into a driveway and then leaving forward. Check for people, vehicles and obstructions before each movement, signal and yield as required. Do not use private access that is unavailable or make the maneuver where traffic or visibility makes it unsafe.
